BREAST UPLIFT
Breast uplift procedures; It is made to uplift and tighten the breasts of patients who are not experiencing a problem with breast size but have sagging breasts.
There are many factors causing sagging in breasts. Sometimes women's breasts can be structurally sagging, as well as experiences such as ageing, gravity, frequent weight gain/loss and breastfeeding may cause volume loss and sagging in the breast.
In aesthetic breast uplift surgery, the saggy breast tissue is reshaped, the excess skin is taken out and the nipple is brought to the position where it should be. The intention of the breast-uplift surgery is to provide the breasts a shape proportional to the body and to make sure the two breasts are symmetrical.
Breast- uplift surgery may sometimes not be sufficient to reach the normal volume of the breast. If the volume is considered inadequate, silicon prosthesis can be used during the uplift to reach larger dimensions. Thus, the breast is both uplifted and enlarged.
In general, milk ducts are retained in this surgery, i.e. no cuts are made to prevent direct breastfeeding. Similarly, the sensory nerves are preserved and no incises are made to cause the loss of the nipple's distinctive sensation. Apart from the scar that occurs around your nipple, you will have either scar going downwards (vertical scar) or a scar called "reverse T".
Before all breast surgeries, according to your age you will need to have breast health check having either USG or mammography. The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and lasts 2-3 hours. The pain is mild and can be eliminated with simple painkillers.
Dressings are removed 3-4 days after surgery. Between 4-7 days, you can return to working life.
