Gynaecomastia
Gynaecomastia is caused by verious reasons and causes the male to have breast that are shaped like females. Gynaecomastia can be caused by hormons unhealthy eating habits liver problems , age , alchohol and other reasons.
The breast can be consistant of fat or tissue or sometimes fat and tissue together.
When the breast starts to grow if it is treated within the first year the problem usally is solved. But if not treated in the first year the patient will need surgery. After the first year there are no medications or exercices that can help gynaecomastia.
Gynaecomastia can change the way you dress, your posture, self confidence issues and sexual problems can be seen in these patients.
If the problem is hormonal then you will need to combine your surgery with hormonal treatments as well.
Gynaecomasty has three stages, First Stage; there will be little breast growth. Second Stage; The breast is larger but there are no skin sagging yet. Third Stage; The breast is large and the skin is know saging.
Looking at what stage you are at the procedure that most suits you will be decided on.
With the first and second stage if there is only fat then liposuction will be enogh to treat the problem. But if there is a buil up of hard tissue and fat then liposuction is accompined a cut around the nipple area and the hard tissue is removed with a little scarring.
This surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The surgery will take about 1-2 hours.
You will be required to wear a compression garment after the surgery for a while. The garment is very important to shape the new breast and protect it. The pain after the surgery is min and is treated with genaral pain killers.
