MID-FACE-LIFT

Mid-Face Lift

We can divide the face into three parts and evaluate the ageing of the face in to three groups. Top face; Eyebrow and eyebrow upper level, mid-face; from the bottom of the eyebrow to the nose level area, the lower face; the neck areas under the moustache and moustache level.  The eyes are located in the mid-face area, so when we look at the person, the first perceived place is the mid face area, and this area is the region that begins to age earlier, therefore the rejuvenation of this area leads to major changes in the person.     Ageing in the mid-face,is an effect that resembles the downward shifting of our cheekbones. At 30s, there is a loss of volume in the fat tissue in the cheek region that is directly under the eye in addition to this, over the years, loss of volume to the bone tissues and stretching of the connective tissue occurs. The bottom of the eye bags can become visible. The skin will accumulate on both sides of the nose, causing grooves at the nasal edge resulting in unhappy, tired and unhealthy appearance of the person.

Mid-face lift surgery is carried out to overcome these problems. With two incisions from the bottom of the eyelid lash and the temporal region of the scalp, the whole cheek area and even the eye ring area is reached where the tissues are moved higher up and tightened. This process actually imitates the change that occurs on our face when we smile and fulfils the face oval.     The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and the patients spend the night at the hospital. Swelling and bruising lasts approximately 1 week to ten days and at the end of this period, patients can return to their routine life. In the first weeks, the face it looks bigger and fuller than normal, and ' the face fit ' takes about two months.
